Why not college?
While college is a common pathway to choose, it isn’t right for everyone. Career & technical can be a great pathway for someone looking at an expedited education in a specific career path. Most programs at a career and technical center take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to complete.
How much does it cost?
The overall cost for a program can depend on the time a course requires, but as an example the automotive technology degree from MCCTC is 700 hours (about 3 semesters) and costs $10,602 – thats about $3,534 a semester. In comparison, the cost of 3 semesters at YSU would be $17,886 – which is $5,962 a semester.
Can I receive financial aid?
Yes – most career and technical centers accept the FAFSA and can often provide you with other financial aid resources or a payment plan to help afford your courses.
